I am always amazed with the ability to create fan fiction – not the sexually-charged laughable fan fiction, but the well written and elaborate kind that could only be created by someone who knows the characters deeply. Such is “Batman – The Killing Joke: Aftermath” written by Speculating Nerd, who is no stranger to either Batman or the art of writing fan fiction.
Growing up with comics, courtesy of his mother, Speculating Nerd practically learned to read with comic books. He is a born and raised New Yorker and hopes to one day break into the comic industry, followed by Hollywood – mostly for work behind the camera. For now, he’s been regularly posting blogs on his website ranging from television and movie reviews, fantastic fan fiction, trailers, future film speculation, and more!
In “The Killing Joke” the story focuses on Batman trying to stop the Joker as he paralyzes Barbara Gordon and attempts to drive her father insane. The graphic novel ends with Batman killing the Joker (although some may argue that it was more ambiguous, and left to the reader to decide). Speculating Nerd’s fan fiction begins at that scene, where Batman and James Gordon are faced with what happens next. A total of 7 chapters, this epic journey is well worth the read! Impressively, it was also mentioned on Comicsverse!
